Park Heremastate is a park around house Herema State. In 1680, the construction of a large-scale formal park garden began. Since then, the park has undergone several major changes. The irregularly landscaped ponds, winding paths, and the weeping willows that hang over the water give the park a romantic, natural look. Well worth a walk!
‘The mountain’, as it is popularly called, is an important eye-catcher of the park. At the time, an icehouse was built inside the mountain. In the winter months, ice was moved from the park pond to this cellar, to ensure that the space remained cool in the summer.
