The bell tower in Bantega was built in 1923 and restored in 1973. The original bell cast by the Petit & Fritsen bell foundry in 1933 was requisitioned by the Germans in 1943. It was replaced by the swinging bell that hangs in the tower today.

It was replaced by the swinging bell that hangs in the tower today. On the bell there is an inscription in Frisian, De Stellen klok, Dy't liede by dea, Sil ik forgange yn't Nye Bantegea. In English, it reads, ‘The stolen bell that rang for the dead shall I replace in the new Bantega.’
