The village of Hinnaard was built on a mound. The village graveyard, which is also on the mound, is surrounded by elm trees and an elm tree hedge. Some of the headstones mark more recent graves but others date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. In the middle of the graveyard there is a square klokhuis-type bell tower. The yellow bricks used to build the footing were retrieved when the church was demolished in the 19th century. Built into the wall is a heraldic stone that mentions a repair in 1731. But this cannot refer to the bell tower because the church was still standing in 1731. There is no inscription on the bell but it is thought to have been cast in the 13th century.
