Fancy staying in the oldest house in Grou? You can! De Thuiskamer is located in a nearly-400 year old beautiful 'rijksmonument' from 1654, in one of the best places in the centre of Grou. Grou is a convivial and charming water-sports village, which is well-worth a visit thanks to its many shops and a huge array of restaurants. It's ideally located for water-sports fans, or businesspeople, in the heart of Friesland: in the centre of the four biggest cities, Leeuwarden, Heerenveen, Sneek; and Drachten are reachable within 15 minutes.
The characterful 'house room' is also great for a weekend or week away with the whole family. With passion and authenticity, we strive for quality and continuity, so that our guests have a wonderful holiday with the warm feeling of being at home.
De Thuiskamer has two guest bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and have all the latest comforts installed, but with care taken to preserve the old detailing of the property. The guest rooms are located on the first floor, and have their own entrance, so that guests can enjoy optimal privacy. If you book both rooms, the whole B&B is at your disposal (excluding the kitchen, where Fraukje will make a wide-ranging Frisian breakfast for you each morning!)
The building and space have had diverse functions over the years, and were turned into B&B De Thuiskamer in April 2011.
The owner is Fraukje Buggink, and she is the proud operator of the B&B. She looks after all details so that every guest feels as welcome as possible.
There is free WiFi available in the whole B&B.
De Thuiskamer is a hypo-allergenic B&B, smoke-free, and pets are not allowed.
