The Bremer Wildernis is located in Gaasterland, near Nijemirdum, and borders the Lycklamabos and Starnumanbossen forests.
The Bremer Wildernis was established as an exploitation forest in the 19th century by the landowners of Swinderen. Since 1976, Staatsbosbeheer has managed this nature reserve. Roe deer and badgers have made this area their home.
