Take a look

The musical theatre performance Evenhuis | The Frisian Banker of the Resistance tells the intriguing story of resistance fighter Jan Evenhuis and his daughter Jeanne. As head of the tax office in Leeuwarden, Evenhuis commits large-scale fraud with tax returns during the Second World War and defrauds the occupiers of almost 6 million guilders. The money is used to finance large-scale hiding aid in Friesland and save the lives of thousands of Jews, Allied pilots and other persecuted people.

But when his daughter is arrested by the Germans in 1944, it throws Evenhuis completely off balance. He tries to buy her freedom with a large sum of money, but the Nazis do not trust the deal…
The theatre performances are played in Leeuwarden, Sneek and Drachten.

In Leeuwarden it is also possible to take a walk through the Vrijheidswijk before the performance. You can book a ticket for this separately.
Lectures are also organised in all three cities. These are at different times than the performance evenings.
