In Buitenpost, located along the railway, 18 train minutes from Leeuwarden and Groningen, you will find the largest botanical garden in Friesland. Enjoy 19 magnificent theme gardens, including the largest botanical collection of medicinal herbs in Western Europe.
Explore the gardens independently or with a guide and enjoy organic coffee with homemade pastries or a spicy lunch in our Eettuin after your visit. The Eettuin staff are happy to let you enjoy fresh, local, and organic products, and they use many ingredients from their own garden.
With the admission ticket to De Kruidhof, you also get access to the Ice Age Museum. Additionally, there is a great playground with lots of sand and water where both young and older children can have a great time.
Lastly, you will be amazed by our sales garden. Here, you can find special plants, herbs, and fruit trees. Our museum shop is the perfect place to buy a nice souvenir, regional products, or high-quality gardening tools.
