Ice skating in Friesland
Go for the cold in the summer
In Friesland you can always skate. In the winter (hopefully) on natural ice, and if it is not freezing you can visit the famous Thialf in Heerenveen or the Elfstedenhal in Leeuwarden. Ice hockey, figure skating and curling are also allowed!

Who does not know this world famous skating rink? Home to many Olympic champions and host of major competitions and world cups. In the Thialf you can go skating on the 400 meter track, but also on the 333 meter track and the 30x30 scribble track for the little ones. The Thialf also has a real Ice hockey arena and of course you can also rent the irons.

Indoor skating is possible here in the Elfstedenhal which has been open to the public since 2015. Various skating lessons and clinics are given here and you can also come and ride clean, iisstokjits, ice hockey and curling.
