Kuiertocht Hemelum
The landscape around Hemelum differs from the rest of Friesland. Here, the land undulates. The lakes Fluessen and Morra are remnants of a glacial valley. Here in Hemelum, the ground is uplifted.
Through the hamlet of Galamadammen, you walk along the reed beds around the Fûgelhoeke and the lake De Morra, back to Hemelum.
A "kuiertocht" is a short walking route. It won't surprise you, therefore, that in Frisian, "wandelen" is "kuierje." You can easily combine a kuiertocht with an activity in the area, or choose to walk another kuiertocht. An overview of all kuiertochten can be found here.
