Langweer is located in the municipality of the Frisian Lakes, on the edge of the Langweerderwielen lake. Langweer is an old village with a rich history. For centuries this village was only accessible via the water. The first link to the outside world was made over land in 1856: the Brédyk towards Sint Nicolaasga. In the summer, many tourists (including celebrities) visit Langweer for the cosy atmosphere in the village or sailing on the lake.
