Love - Leeuwarden

The artist was inspired by the rising mist over the fields as he traveled through Friesland in the early morning. These locations share his love and wonder for the power and magic of water.

Fountain of Fortuna - Sneek

The artist found his inspiration in the history of Sneek, a city that prospored and also knew great poverty. The juxtaposition of wealth and poverty is found throughout the province.

Immortal flowers - Rikka - IJlst

The Japanese artist discovered a connection between our Stinze plants and the Japanese art of flower arrangement. The same passion for florals is shown at these locations.

Peewit - Sloten

The migatory birds are interwoven with Friesian culture. The artists work asks us to safeguard nature for the future generation. Learn more how Frisian culture was influenced by birds.

Fish for Stavoren - Stavoren

This strange fish was inspired by the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch and seems to have come from myths an fairytales. There are other legends and sagas to be found in places besides Stavoren.

Flora & Fauna - Hindeloopen

This artist was inspired by birds, stags and trees found in the heraldry of Hindeloopen. The province of Friesland has some special birds and trees awaiting your visit.

Rampant Lions of Workum - Workum

The English artist found her inspiration in the rampant lions of Workum`s coat of arms. We are happy to reveal a few other spots where you can find a bit of wilderness.

Bat - Bolsward

The artist was inspired by the many churches in Friesland and the life of bats. These locations let you experience the dark and test your senses.

Whale - Harlingen

The artist created a  lifelike whale to symbolize humans interaction with nature in bygone days. This subject is still relevant today and both nature and humans are found in the following places to visit.

Oort Cloud - Franeker

It`s not strange that the creator of this fountain chose the stars as a subject. The most famous stargazers lived in Franeker; Eijse Eijsinga and Jan Hendrik Oort. So Let your eyes wander and reach for he stars in these locations.

Ice Fountain - Dokkum

The artist was challenged by the concept of how to create ice from global warming. And she succeeded in turning sunlight into frost. It is no secret that Friesland and skating go hand in hand, that is why this fountain is so loved by the Friesians.
