Kliffs of Gaasterland
On the walk, you'll encounter two of the three cliffs that Southwest Friesland boasts, formed during the Ice Age. One of them is the Oudemirdumer Klif, owned and managed by Natuurmonumenten. Despite its modest height of 6 meters, it offers a rich variety of nature. Over 200 different plants thrive here due to the moist ground. If you enjoy birdwatching, this is the perfect spot to spot waterfowl.

Laaksum
Laaksum is a very small fishing village on the coast of Friesland, also known as the smallest fishing village in Europe. Here, you can experience traditional fishing culture.

Book an overnight stay
The route is quite long to experience in one day, so we recommend walking it over two days. The hiking route consists of two loops. On the first day, you'll walk through Rijsterbos to Laaksum and Bakhuizen. On the second day, you'll take the loop around Wyldemerk and Oudemirdum. We are happy to provide tips for a pleasant overnight stay in the area.

Storyline Space
Wyldemerk is part of the Storyline Space. Through twelve special places in Waterland van Friesland, you embark on a 'space journey.'
