From here, you can cycle to the nearby Oranjewoud Park Landscape before heading north to the village of Beetsterzwaag, where you can see monumental trees and buildings. There are beautiful walks through the Oranjewoud Park Landscape and also in Beetsterzwaag. So you may want to set aside a few days for this section of the Elfstatentocht Country Estate Route.
That way you will have time to visit historic sites in a unique part of Friesland!

Huize Voormeer

Grand Canal
The Belvédère Museum in the pretty little village of Oranjewoud offers a spectacular view of the Grand Canal. The building designed by Dutch architect Eerde Schippers is built across the water of the Prinsenwijk canal. The museum was designed in 1703.

This place tells a unique story of Aunt Marijke and her last stage of life as a regency. Despite her weak health and mild stroke, Aunt Marijke relentlessly continued the work. Aunt Marijke died at the age of 77.
Cemetery Brongerga & Belfry

De Overtuin van Lyndenstein ligt tegenover Revalidatie Friesland in Beetsterzwaag. Hier is van juni t/m september 2021 de tentoonstelling 'Van Lyndens Erfenis' te zien. Dit gratis toegankelijke park in Engelse landschapsstijl is zeker een bezoek waard.
Huize Lyndenstein
Het statige Huize Lyndenstein in Beetsterzwaag is het huidige hoofdkantoor van Revalidatie Friesland. Het gebouw is niet open voor bezichtiging.
Sint Martenskerk (Dorpskerk) Beetsterzwaag
De huidige Sint Martenskerk (Dorpskerk) van Beetsterzwaag is een Rijksmonument en stamt uit 1803. Daarvoor stond er op dezelfde plek een oude bouwvallige middeleeuwse kerk. In de kerk zijn oude grafzerken en eikenhouten herenbanken en een mooi bewerkte eikenhouten kansel.

Klokkenstoel Luinjeberd
In Luinjeberd werd al voor 1300 een klooster gesticht. Het moest wegens hoog water enkele keren verhuizen. Mariënbosch streek uiteindelijk neer naast de huidige begraafplaats van Luinjeberd, waar nu alleen nog een dubbele klokkenstoel staat.
